Thai don't really eat bread. They don't like it, without rice food is not a meal. You can buy bread in supermarkets, but it's never very crowded in that department. A croissant or a brownie as a snack still works, but a cheese sandwich is for Thai from Mars.

There is one exception, and we find it strange. The ice cream sandwich. A scoop of ice cream on a white sandwich with some coconut milk or sweetened milk on top, and maybe some coconut sticky rice and some peanuts. You eat it like a hot dog. A treat!

What is more understandable for us is the combination of ice cream and toast, usually soaked in butter and honey. Or planed ice cream, we know that in Europe by now. You can see that Thai food when they are at the night market with a group of friends.

Eating such a planed ice cream construction, because they are presented high and impressive, is a social event and therefore for at least two people, but preferably for three or four. The mountain of planed ice is flavoured with coloured syrup, coconut milk, fruit and pieces of sweetened corn and jelly.
